LAUGHTER UNLIMITED... Improving the "Quality of Life"
For decades since the publication of Norman Cousins’ “Anatomy of An Illness” in 1979, laughter has been subject to extensive scientific research. Studies consistently show that laughter reduces stress, decreases pain perception and has a positive, lasting effect on the immune system, heart and brain.
Utilizing this knowledge to serve our community, Laughter Unlimited has developed a comprehensive care service program providing professional clowns, circus entertainers and trained volunteers to nursing homes, assisted living facilities, day care centers, hospitals and other institutions bringing joy and laughter to "children of all ages".
Laughter Unlimited invites both older adults and children in institutional settings to meet professional circus performers, and more importantly, to participate in a truly interactive experience.
Our unique programs enhance the daily life of residents, patients and staff, and fills the void between health care professionals and family members. Using the age-old art of clowning, Laughter Unlimited has created a masterful blend of therapeutic medicine we call "Humor Therapy".
The Laughter Unlimited program is designed to build long-term relationships with the residents and staff that the clowns interact with. Using individual Care Plans and the specific needs of each facility we develop interventions that include:
Comedy Cabaret,Interactive Presentations Room to Room Visits Inter-gentational Events Men's Club Comedy in Motion TM, Exercise Program Memories...Lost and Found TM
